Patient care at the highest level
With its comprehensive range of product solutions, the MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® provides an effective and flexible means of achieving optimal temperature management for adult and paediatric patients.
It has been developed with the aim of appropriately supporting the daily work of medical facilities, with a clear focus on high‑quality patient care.
Avoidable risks due to temperature deviation
Deviation from a patient’s core body temperature promotes a wide range of complications throughout the entire course of treatment. Disorders of blood coagulation, an increased risk of infection, and cardiac complications are associated with perioperative hypothermia according to numerous studies.
In addition to preventing a decrease in core body temperature, the early detection of hyperthermia also represents a clear indication for temperature monitoring before, during and after surgery. [1]
Furthermore, the issues described above may result in prolonged hospital stays and consequently higher costs per patient, placing an additional burden on the healthcare system. [1]
Simple yet effective
The MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® is based on the use of convective air transfer generated by a forced‑air warming unit in combination with various models of reusable textile warming blankets and warming mats.
Our solution is founded on the efficiency of a temperature management system that we recognise as an essential component of quality‑focused patient care.
During use, the air conditioned by the forced‑air warming unit is conveyed via one or two flexible hoses [2] into the interior of the connected warming blanket or warming mat, respectively.
Carefully selected materials used for the textile medical devices ensure uniform and extensive distribution of the supplied air — even underneath the patient — allowing effective temperature management in accordance with the selected settings on the forced‑air warming unit.
In the following illustrations, the red arrows schematically represent the principle of air distribution.
Construction of the textile blankets and warming mats
The green, patient‑facing surface is made of an air‑permeable, antistatic polyester barrier fabric, characterised by a soft feel and pleasant skin contact.
The integrated layer of 3D spacer fabric reduces interface pressure and minimises fluid accumulation on the surface of the warming mat.
The white, patient‑facing‑away side is also made of polyester but features a polyurethane coating that acts as an air and fluid barrier, ensuring that the supplied heat is directed efficiently towards the patient.
The textile materials used in our warming blankets and warming mats are radiolucent and latex‑free.
All models are equally suitable for both short‑term and long‑term use.
Interface contact areas of different warming systems
Conductive warming systems, such as heating mats, warm the patient through direct contact heat transfer at the interface surface.
Widely used disposable convective products, such as non‑woven warming blankets, provide a larger interface contact area, which can improve heat transfer compared with conductive systems.
The integrated 3D textile layer in the warming mats of the MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® is designed to prevent complete compression at the interface contact areas and thereby support improved and more uniform heat distribution.
