3 Collection, processing and use of personal data

3.1 Categories of data processed

Communication data (e.g. name, telephone number, e-mail address, address, IP address) are processed.

3.2 Principles

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, for example, names, addresses, telephone numbers or e-mail addresses that are an expression of a person's identity.

We collect, process and use personal data (including IP addresses) only if there is a legal basis for doing so or if you have given us your consent in this regard.

3.3 Processing purposes and legal basis

We and service providers contracted by us process your personal data for the following processing purposes:

3.3.1 Provision of these Internet pages

The legal basis is our overriding legitimate interest in marketing, provided it is in accordance with data protection and competition law requirements.

3.3.2 To identify malfunctions and for security reasons

The legal basis is the fulfillment of our legal data security obligations and our overriding legitimate interest in the elimination of disruptions and the security of our offerings.

3.3.3 Self-advertising as well as market research and coverage measurement to the extent permitted by law or on the basis of consent

The legal basis is consent or our overriding legitimate interest in marketing, insofar as it is in compliance with data protection and competition law requirements.

3.4 Log files

Every time you use the Internet, certain information is automatically transmitted by your Internet browser and stored by us in so-called log files.

The log files are stored by us for a period of seven days for the purpose of investigating faults and for security reasons (e.g. to clarify attempted attacks) and then deleted. Log files whose retention is required for evidentiary purposes are exempt from deletion until the final clarification of the respective incident and may be passed on to investigating authorities in individual cases.

Log files (without or without a complete IP address) are also used for analysis purposes under the conditions of section 3.3.3 "Self-advertising as well as market research and coverage measurement to the extent permitted by law or on the basis of consent".

The following information in particular is stored in the log files:

IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the end device from which the online offer is accessed
Internet address of the website from which the online offer was accessed (so-called origin or referrer URL)
Name of the service provider used to access the online offer
Name of the retrieved files or information
Date and time as well as duration of the retrieval
    Amount of data transferred
Operating system and information on the Internet browser used
http status code (e.g. "request successful" or "requested file not found")

3.5 Passing on data

3.5.1 Transfer of data to other data controllers

As a matter of principle, we will only transfer your personal data to other responsible parties if this is necessary for the performance of the contract, if we or the third party have an overriding legitimate interest in the transfer, or if we have your consent to do so. For details on the legal basis and the recipients or categories of recipients, please refer to the section "Processing purposes and legal basis" (see No. 3.3).

In addition, data may be transferred to other responsible parties if we are required to do so by law or by enforceable official or court order.

3.5.2 Service providers (general)

We commission external service providers with tasks such as marketing, web or data hosting. We have carefully selected these service providers. The service providers are obligated by us to maintain confidentiality and to comply with legal requirements, in particular to handle and secure the data stored by them with care.

3.6 Duration of storage, retention periods

As a matter of principle, we only store your data for as long as is necessary to provide our service or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in continuing to store it (e.g. we may still have a legitimate interest in postal marketing even after a contract has been fulfilled). Thereafter, we delete your personal data with the exception of such data that we must continue to store in order to fulfill legal obligations (e.g., we are obliged to retain documents such as contracts and invoices for a certain period of time due to retention periods under tax and commercial law).

4. use of cookies

Cookies and tracking mechanisms may be used in the course of providing our online services. Cookies are small text files that can be stored on your terminal device when you visit an online offer. Tracking is possible using various technologies. We process information in particular within the framework of pixel technology or log file analysis.

4.1 Categories

We distinguish between cookies that are absolutely necessary for the technical functions of the online offer and such cookies and tracking mechanisms that are not absolutely necessary for the technical function of the online offers.

The use of the online offer is generally possible without cookies that do not serve technical purposes.

4.1.1 Technically necessary cookies

By technically necessary cookies, we mean cookies without which the technical provision of our online services cannot be guaranteed. This includes, for example, cookies that store data to ensure the trouble-free playback of video or audio content. These cookies are deleted at the end of your visit.

4.1.2 Technically unnecessary cookies and tracking mechanisms

We currently do not use marketing cookies and tracking mechanisms.

After clicking on the link, we no longer have any influence on the collection, processing and use of any personal data transmitted to the third party when the link is clicked on (such as the IP address or the URL of the page on which the link is located), as the behavior of third parties is naturally beyond our control. We assume no responsibility for the processing of such personal data by third parties.

5.1 Integration of third-party services and content

Vimeo

On our Internet pages, we use videos from the company Vimeo LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. A plug-in allows us to show you interesting product presentations via video directly on our website. Certain data from you may be transferred to Vimeo in the process. In the following, we will inform you what data is involved and how you can manage or prevent your data transfer.

First, we would like to explain why we use the video portal of Vimeo for our purposes. The aim of our Internet presence is to show you the best possible content, while making it as easy as possible for you to use. The functionality of Vimeo supports us in this in an ideal way, because Vimeo, like we ourselves, prioritizes high quality content and presentation.

Videos from Vimeo are embedded on some of our Internet pages. If such a website is accessed, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. This transmits to the Vimeo server which of our Internet pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of Vimeo, Vimeo assigns this information to your personal Vimeo user account. By clicking the start button of a video, this information can also be assigned to an existing user account. If you log out of your Vimeo user account before using our website and delete the corresponding cookies from Vimeo, you can prevent this assignment.

Within our online offer, we use this service on the basis of a legitimate interest - in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online offer. The legal basis for this can be found in Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f.) DSGVO.

Detailed information on data processing as well as information on data protection by Vimeo can be found at https://vimeo.com/privacy.

Vimeo also calls up the Google Analytics tracker via an iFrame in which the video is called up. This is Vimeo's own tracking. We do not have access to it. You prevent tracking by Google Analytics by using the deactivation tools that Google offers for some Internet browsers. Users can also prevent the collection of data generated by Google Analytics and related to their use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

6. security

Our employees and the service companies contracted by us are bound to secrecy and compliance with the provisions of applicable data protection laws.

We take all necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure an adequate level of protection and to protect your data managed by us, in particular against the risks of accidental or unlawful destruction, manipulation, loss, alteration or unauthorized disclosure or access. Our security measures are constantly being improved in line with technological developments.

7. user rights

To assert your rights, please use the information in the "Contact" section (see No. 9). In doing so, please ensure that we are able to clearly identify you.

7.1 Right to information and disclosure

You have the right to receive information from us about the processing of your data. To this end, you can assert a right to information with regard to the personal data we process about you.

7.2 Right of correction and deletion

You may request us to correct incorrect data. Insofar as the legal requirements are fulfilled, you can demand the completion or deletion of your data.

This does not apply to data that is required for billing and accounting purposes or is subject to the legal obligation to retain data. However, if access to such data is not required, its processing will be restricted (see below).

7.3 Restriction of processing

You may request us - provided that the legal requirements are met - to restrict the processing of your data.

7.4 Data portability

Insofar as the legal requirements are met, you may request that data you have provided to us be transferred in a structured, common and machine-readable format or that the data be transferred to a third party, insofar as this is technically feasible.

7.5 Right of objection

7.5.1 Objection to direct marketing

You may also object at any time to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes ("advertising objection"). Please note that, for organizational reasons, there may be an overlap between your objection and the use of your data in the context of an already ongoing campaign.

7.5.2 Objection to data processing on the legal basis of "legitimate interest"

In addition, you have the right to object to data processing by us at any time, insofar as this is based on the legal basis of "legitimate interest". We will then stop processing your data unless we can prove - in accordance with the legal requirements - compelling reasons for further processing that are worthy of protection and that outweigh your rights.

7.6 Revocation of consent

If you have given us consent to process your data, you may revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent given to us before the DSGVO came into force, i.e. before May 25, 2018. The lawfulness of the processing of your data until the revocation remains unaffected.

7.7 Right of complaint to the supervisory authority

Before you complain about us elsewhere, we naturally welcome you to first contact us directly (See 9. Contact). You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. To do so, you can contact the data protection supervisory authority responsible for your place of residence or federal state or the data protection supervisory authority responsible for us. This is:

The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
