Reusable lower-body warming blanket: a CO₂ comparison
The Green Zero environmental study is based on the ISO 14067 standard and analyses the greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts of reusable MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® blankets compared with conventional disposable blankets. Using a cradle-to-grave approach, environmental aspects are analysed across the entire product life cycle and compared with disposable alternatives.
The assessment using the ReCiPe 2016 method (version 1.08) analyses eight environmental impact categories, with a particular focus on global warming potential (GWP). Based on a functional unit of 200 uses, the reusable MOECK WARMING SYSTEM® lower-body warming blanket evaluated in the study showed a global warming potential (GWP) that was at least 3.9 times lower than that of the conventional disposable product evaluated. Based on the functional unit, this corresponds to 53 disposable blankets and a lower global warming potential in the scenario assessed.
The present report has undergone a critical review by an independent external expert to validate both the methodology and the results. This review ensures the robustness and credibility of the findings.
